FLSM offers both a 6-month immersion program in Massage Therapy and a 22-month, part-time, weekend program. On a typical day in each program, students devote half their time studying experiential anatomy and physiology or kinesiology. The other half of the day is spent learning and practicing massage techniques. Classes in communication skills, professional ethics and business skills are also integrated into the course of study. In addition to in-class training, students participate in a professional massage clinic two or three evenings per week.

In order to insure that our program matches our students’ expectations and abilities, we have the following guidelines for admission:

New York State Board of Education Requires that you:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a high school graduate or equivalent and submit a copy of your high school diploma or G.E.D

FLSM Requires that you:

• Complete the FLSM Application process which includes submitting each of the items on the Application Checklist:

• Completed application and required essays

• Official copy of high school transcript or GED (This is a New York State Board of Education Requirement—even if you have educational experience beyond a high school degree). You may send an official copy of this material by mail or have your high school fax it directly to us at 607-272-4271.

• $50 Standard Application fee or $150 Transfer Application Fee

• If Transfer Applicant Only: Transcripts and catalog from previous massage school or college.

• A background in bodywork or the allied sciences is not required for admission into our program.

International Students

FLSM is approved through the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service to enroll international students with M-1 visa status. The M-1 visa is issued for students of INS-approved vocational status.
